After studying architecture, Ross has worked in the creative industry for the past twenty years, with a primary focus on identity design and architectural photography. The influences of a rigorous approach to composition, along with the use of strong graphical elements are evident in much of the painting work. Pre-production workflow is often carried out on the computer, using skills learnt over in commercial design practice. Specific artistic influences cited are Richard Diebenkorn, Raimonds Staprans and Milton Avery.
